The Valentine Balloon Project was developed by the Foundation in 2008. Orders are taken for 18 inch Red Mylar Heart Shaped Balloons. Each balloon has a requested personal message handwritten on the balloon. Balloons are ordered by family members, friends and staff.

Support for this project is received from a number of community organizations and from friends, families and staff members. This support allows the Foundation to purchase balloons for those residents for whom no order was received.

A number of staff receive balloons as a way to say thank you for all that you do to make the Wayne County Nursing Home a loving home away from home.

The balloons are delivered by members of the Board of Directors, representatives of the supporting organizations and NH volunteers. It is a special day for all!

The Board of Directors chose this project as it spoke to their mission to enhance the quality of life for the residents.
